Is PEPPOL mandatory in Belgium?

Since 2019, all enterprises sending invoices to public sector institutions in Belgium have been required to transmit them as e-invoices using Mercurius, the official government portal. The invoices are distributed using the PEPPOL network.

Do you already have an invoice software that is suitable for sending e-invoices?

If this is the case, you can already send your e-invoices to the government. 

If this is not yet the case, you can send your invoices via Mercurius.
The Mercurius portal helps to monitor the sending and processing of e-invoices.
In addition, it offers the possibility of manually issuing invoices or credit notes,
for all those who do not yet have the appropriate software.
